Nate Diaz has always expressed his disappointment on Dana White. The lightweight star even got to slap the UFC president, which he even posted on his Instagram account.
But, after the announcement that Diaz will finally return to the Octagon to fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 230, many fans thought that maybe the beef has already been settled. However, the announcement didn’t end up well. Diaz was enraged when he felt that UFC wasn’t promoting him as much as they were promoting Conor McGregor’s return, in fact, he walked out.
However, despite Diaz’s antics during the press conference, and trolling around social media that he didn’t actually want to fight, the scheduled matchup was cancelled due to Poirier’s injury.
And White wasn’t impressed by Diaz’s attitude.
Dana White Not Interested
In a recent interview with ESPN, the UFC boss revealed that he’s done dealing with the Diaz brothers. He said that he passed off the job to one on the staffs, but he can’t also seem to handle the responsibility.
“He wanted a fight, we made a fight, we announced the fight, immediately he starts saying he’s not fighting,” White said. “We had a guy here in the company that was a big Nate Diaz fan, a big Nick Diaz fan and wanted to work with them. He’s not as enthusiastic as he used to be.”
Although White has no plans of tearing up Diaz’s contract, he says he won’t try to arrange another bout for him unless he’s entirely willing to get back to the Octagon.
“I’m not interested in making a Nate Diaz fight until Diaz is just dying to fight,” said White. “We’ll offer him fights; we always offer him fights. We probably offered this kid 50 fights since he fought Conor. When he’s ready to fight, he’ll let us know.”
