The Conor McGregor Vs Donald Cerrone match is sounding a lot more possible after coach Owen Roddy said he wants to see it happen.
UFC veteran Cerrone recently called out ‘The Notorious’ for a match he would do even in McGregor’s home soil, Ireland. McGregor immediately responded and now, his manager thinks the fan-favourite matchup would be ‘very exciting.’

Still Got It
‘The Notorious,’ who obviously paid attention to the match last January 20, said Cerrone’s impressive comeback won his desire to fight ‘Cowboy.’

While the Dubliner is still serving a six-month fighting suspension in relation to his UFC 229 post-fight melee, Roddy hopes Cerrone will welcome him back to the cage. In an interview with MMA Fighting’s Eurobash Podcast, the mixed martial arts coach said:
“It’s a fan favourite fight. Cerrone comes out and he looks to swing and Conor’s going to be looking to knock him out. The banter beforehand, I don’t see it being as [turbulent] — I think it will be funny. Both guys will go back and forth and that will be exciting for fans. I think it would be a very exciting fight.”
And also despite Max Holloway’s indirect dig at wanting a piece of McGregor, Roddy says it’s the Cerrone fight he deems fit.
“[Holloway is] putting the digs in. I saw the post of him the other day in the Jameson [Distillery], but I don’t know. I think the Cerrone one, because [McGregor and Cerrone] both engaged directly — Conor said he’d do it and then Cerrone said he’d do it. I think that might be in the pipeline.”
A Fight People Want To See
Continuing, the Irish coach expanded the idea of the McGregor-Cerrone pair-up being a hit. He said that the camp, the buildup and the match will surely be fun.
“I can’t confirm that 100 per cent obviously, but I think the fans would love it. It’s a great fight that people want to see. They can see the two of them in there, standing up and having a bang.”
“We’d enjoy the camp, we’d enjoy the build up. Everyone would enjoy the buildup. It would be a nice fight.”
