YouTube sensation KSI expressed his disappointment over the result of the much-hyped boxing fight against Logan Paul last weekend.
The 25-year old rapper uploaded a video on YouTube, which showed him criticising the outcome of the match. He believed that the result of the fight could have gone on his way.
Biggest Fight in Internet History
British celebrity Olajide “KSI” Olatunji took on the famous US prankster Logan Paul in a much-hyped boxing fight at Manchester Arena in front of 18 000 strong fans.
Paul went on to display his dominance in the first two rounds, showing his height and reach advantage. There was one point where Paul looked to be too much for KSI, but the latter responded with his own flurry of punches.
In the second round, Paul continued his solid pace, but KSI started to pick up his rhythm and was able to land significant blows and punches.
But after six intense rounds, the judges could not split and decided to call the contest a draw, much to the dismay of the crowd. Fans in live attendance greeted the result with a resounding boo. Both fighters called for a rematch immediately, which is set to happen in the United States.
More than 800 000 watched the fight online while almost half a million were reported streaming the match illegally.
Still the Champ
In a video uploaded in YouTube, KSI commended Logan Paul’s athletic background but fired shots on his strategy, which he considered annoying.
“What a fight, man! [Logan’s] athletic background definitely showed in that fight, he had a very good jab. I’ll give him that. Nice and snappy, nice and long.”
“The most annoying thing about [Logan] was him clenching. He constantly clenched, it was so annoying. Then when I hit him with a big shot, he would just cower and hold onto me… I [thought], I need to do something, he’s trying to waste time.”
But he was not pleased with the outcome and believed that he won that fight.
“Personally, I thought I won the fight in all honesty.”
“It came out as a draw, I thought that was bullshit. It shouldn’t have been a draw, it’s not like I beat him by a landslide, but it is what it is. I brought him into the deep end and he clearly struggled with that. Your boy’s still the champ.”
