WWE Legend John Cena Narrowly Avoids Breaking Neck In Stunt Gone Horribly Wrong

We all know that wrestling is staged but it doesn’t mean that even the most rehearsed procedures can’t go wrong and result in catastrophic injuries or even death.

Considering that fact, John Cena was fu*king lucky to walk away from his recent fight with Shinsuke Nakamura…

The 16-time world champ took on the up-and-comer on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live. It was a high stakes clash: the winner would face Jinder Mahal for the title at WWE SummerSlam 2017 but the main event almost went tragically wrong.

Cena was on top, to begin with, but the fighters fortunes began to change and Nakamura got his chance towards the end of the bout. He went for a suplex but let go too early which caused Cena to hit the canvas, neck-first.

I reckon that might have hurt

It was clear to all who saw it that the veteran was in genuine, serious pain as he lay on the mat and held the side of his head. It wasn’t and act either: John looked fu*ked.

…proper fu*ked…

The Japenese wrestler won the bout and Cena eventually managed to hold his arm aloft but images at the end of the fight showed the Nakamura apologising profusely to his opponent.

Cena, being the absolute bloody champ that he is, showed no hostility towards the man who could have ended his career moments earlier and even told him: “Don’t be sorry.”

The man’s all class

However, it left many fans were shocked at what they had witnessed and they took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

“This will haunt my dreams,” one fan wrote. While another added: “I’ve never been concerned for Cena until then.” Someone else observed that they were “Legit stunned Cena isn’t paralysed right now.”

Nakamura will now take on Mahal and is, apparently, considered to be the favourite for that fight (quite how anyone can be the favourite in professional wrestling is beyond me, to be honest). No match has been announced for Cena yet but many believe that he will take on Baron Corbin next.

I reckon he should chill the fu*k out and have a nice, gentle massage, first!
