Travis Browne Is Furious At MVP For Trolling Ronda Rousey Post UFC 207
UFC heavyweight Travis Browne has come to the defence of his girlfriend Ronda Rousey, who has flack from fans and fellow athletes following her first round TKO loss to UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes over the weekend.
Bellator welterweight star Michael “Venom” Page uploaded a particularly scathing video in which he danced in the street mimicking Rousey’s dazed footwork after she was hit with hard shots from the Brazilian champion. He called his dance “The Ronda Rousey”, and encouraged his fans to “do the best Rousey skank” and then post the videos on Instagram.
Check out Page’s dance moves below:
In a now deleted tweet, Browne called out the Bellator star saying “Fuck you @Michaelpage247 I’m ready any time bitch.
Page didn’t seem to get the message though, as he soon responded on Twitter with another video that he tagged “#headmovement”, mocking Rousey’s performance against Nunes, in which she only landed a few glancing strikes before being finished.
Rousey looked extremely shaken after the first exchange with Nunes, and was then overwhelmed when Nunes unleashed a series of heavy strikes along the cage fence, forcing referee Herb Dean to call a stop to the fight.
This marks the second loss in a row for the former Women’s Bantamweight champion. Rousey lost her first fight in November 2015 to Holly Holm in Melbourne, Australia, via head kick knockout after being dominated for two rounds. This loss to Nunes came much faster, with the fight lasting only 48 seconds.
Browne is looking to return to the octagon at UFC 208 with a matchup against rising heavyweight star Derrick Lewis. Currently on a two fight slide following losses to former champions Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum, Browne will be looking to improve his record and become the first fighter from the Glendale Fight Club to win a fight in some time.
