Kamaru Usman has spoken out on abusive messages aimed at Conor McGregor from his social media account, and denies any involvement of his manager Ali Abdelaziz.
A series of abusive tweets were posted from Usman’s account ahead of McGregor’s UFC comeback at UFC 246.
The messages included personal insults and threats about the Irishman’s partner, Dee Devlin.
Following his emphatic 40-second knockout victory over Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, McGregor dismissed claims that Usman was hacked and instead pointed the finger at Abdelaziz.
The UFC welterweight champion has now spoken out on the ordeal, and insists no one in his camp was involved.
‘Someone Got In’
Speaking to Joe Rogan on the JRE MMA Show podcast, Usman spoke about what happened when he realised he’d been hacked.
“I get on my phone, I try to go into my Twitter, and I can’t, I’m locked out,” he explained.
“So someone had got in and changed the password and the email.”
“So I can’t even get into my Twitter.”
‘Wrong On So Many Levels’
Usman continued to point out that it wasn’t just McGregor and his family who fell victim to the hacker’s harsh words.
Others, including boxing legend Mike Tyson and even the Nigerian himself, were targeted by the tweets coming from his account.
“I get [Ali’s] phone and I go to my page, and the first one, it was wrong on so many levels, was kind of funny if you’re a troll.” he continued.
“But he was tweeting Conor.”
“He was like, ‘I’m gonna be rawd—ng or do something with your wife tonight.’”
“I was like, ‘Whoa, bro, that’s a little much.’”
“At one point, he even said something about Mike Tyson, ‘You’re an N-word,’ like ‘you’re effing N-word.’”
“He’s tweeting to a bunch of people.”
“Somehow, he got into my bank account, screenshots it, and puts it out.”
“One tweet, he was like, ‘If I get get over a thousand followers or a thousand comments or retweets on this, I’mma put his pin code out or his internet password.’”
“I was so flustered by it all to where I couldn’t do anything but smile,”
‘I Would Never’
Usman went on to categorically deny his involvement.
The 32-year-old was also quick to defend his manager, and refuses to believe that Abdelaziz could have anything to do with the tweets.
“I would never say anything like that,” Usman insisted.
“As much as I want to beat him up, if Conor wants to fight, we can fight.”
“But I would never.”
“There’s lines that you don’t cross.”
“I would never disrespect.”
“I would never say anything about someone’s family, someone’s wife.”
“And Ali is a guy that’s so into his family, would never say that.”
“I don’t care how much he hates Conor, or how much he doesn’t like him.”
Usman is set to face Jorge Masvidal next, with reports suggesting International Fight Week in July.
