UFC colour commentator and comedian Joe Rogan has never been one to shy away from the fact that he’s got some serious martial arts talent.
Rogan first took up martial arts as a teenager, taking up karate at the age of fourteen.
He would go on to train in taekwondo which he would later compete in, later winning the US Open Championship tournament at just nineteen years of ages a lightweight competitor.
Rogan would also fight in amateur kickboxing bouts, retiring with a 2-1 record after suffering from a regular headache and fearing the long-term consequences.
Despite the fact that his last fight was over thirty years ago, Rogan now possesses one of the most powerful kicks in the world it seems, if the “Power Kube” machine is to be believed.
This recently released video shows Rogan going mental on the Power Kube, with lightning fast kicks that sound like a gunshot when they land.
The device measures human punching and kicking power, with terrifying UFC heavyweight Francis Ngannou setting the world record for punching power.
UFC President Dana White once described the punching power of Ngannou as being the equivalent of a car, saying: “Francis is a guy that has the world record for the most powerful punch. His punch is the equivalent of 96 horsepower, which is equal to getting hit by a Ford Escort as fast as it can (go), and it’s more powerful than a 12-pound sledgehammer being swung from overhead.”
With technique and skills that allows him to kick harder than Francis Ngannou punches, Rogan has been sought out by world-class athletes such as Georges “Rush” St-Pierre who is not only the UFC’s former welterweight and middleweight champion, but also arguably the greatest fighter to ever grace the octagon.
Rogan taught St-Pierre how to best let off his turning side kick in an episode of Eddie Bravo’s “Mastering the System” series, and the amount of torque he can generate with his kicks is honestly terrifying.
He’s definitely not the kind of person you want to let kick you, as the video you’re about to see will convince you.
