Floyd Mayweather Teases Comeback In The UFC
Retired professional boxer and veteran of the ring Floyd “Money” Mayweather has done some crazy things in his time, but it seems like he’s seeking to top those after claiming he may be looking to return to combat sports.
Mayweather says that he could come back and go straight into the world of mixed martial arts, which certainly raises some questions.
Mayweather was live streaming on social media when he began answering questions for fans watching at home and went on to make it sound like he very well could be considering a stint in the UFC.
“You already know I’m a money-getting motherf*cker,” he said in the video. “I’m Money May. They just called me not too long ago and asked me to come back. I can come right back to the UFC. If I want, I can go, I can come right back to the UFC, I can go fight in the Octagon. I can do a three or four fight deal in the Octagon and make a billion dollars. Remember, I’m Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, and you motherf**kers love me, and I love you motherf*ckers.”
A bout in the UFC would certainly be interesting, with the most likely bout for the forty-year-old boxing star being against UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor, who he faced in a boxing super fight back in August of this year. Mayweather and McGregor went back and forth in the media for months prior to the fight, causing much controversy and worldwide interest as the fight day approached.
McGregor would be TKO’d in the tenth round after starting out strong in the opening frames before fatiguing. The referee would ultimately be forced to step in to stop the bout after he determined McGregor was unable to continue effectively defending himself.
The UFC would certainly have to stump up a truckload of cash in order for Mayweather to be enticed toward the octagon. Somewhere in the realm of $300 million would likely be the mark, considering that’s what he’s rumoured to have been paid for his fight against McGregor.
