WATCH: Wanderlei Silva’s Son Wins Muay Thai Debut In 30 Seconds

It looks like Wanderlei Silva’s son, Thor Silva, is following his footsteps as the young fighter has started his journey towards combat sports greatness.

Silva, also known as ‘The Axe Murderer,’ has been one of the most feared fighters during his prime.

Equipped with his experience on bare-knuckle fighting, the Brazilian sensation made waves both in the Pride Fighting Championship and Ultimate Fighting Championship before taking his talent at Bellator MMA.

He has 35 wins and 14 losses in 51 professional bouts and holds notable wins against Quinton Jackson, Michael Bisping, and Brian Stann.

Earlier this week, his son, Thor, gave MMA fans a glimpse of the future.

‘The Axe Murderer’ himself posted his son’s Muay Thai, where he defeated his opponent in just 30 seconds.

Silva could not hide his excitement about his son’s debut win, saying he also won his first fight in 30 seconds.

“When I fought for the first time in my life, I won by KO to the same 30 seconds of fight, just like my son did today!”

“Congratulations son @thorsilva for showing an odd professionalism in the preparation for this fight.”

“Congratulations, Miguel, for your courage to come to Curitiba to fight against the son of Wanderlei Silva.”

“Keep training I’m sure that this bravery will take you very far in our sport.”

“I want to thank the support of all of you my dear friends. How proud I am today. Thank you, son. I love you”

Great Kid

For his debut, the young Silva trained under the tutelage of his father’s long time coach, Andre Dida.

In a previous interview with MMA Fighting, Dida said there is a lot of promise on this kid and believes he will reach far on his career just like ‘The Axe Murderer.’

“Thor is great kid; a quiet and intelligent kid who works really hard. He trains hard and listen to his coaches.”

“He’s very humble, too, and never used the fact that he’s Wanderlei Silva’s son to have an advantage.”

“I’m sure this is going to be a great way to start his life in a sport where his father had a great run, and (it) also gives him the option to follow this career if he chooses to.”

“I’m happy to be part of this project, and I hope to be with him in every battle he has if that’s what he wants for his life.”

“I know he has the talent, the intelligence, and the blood of a champion running through his veins.”
