Tyson Fury Teases Potential MMA Debut, Says He’s Willing To Train With Conor McGregor

The mixed martial arts world might be the new home for boxing star, Tyson Fury.

The British sensation shocked the world recently after signing with the World Wrestling Entertainment, following an appearance at the WWE Raw.

For his wrestling debut, Fury will take on Braun Strowman at the Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia later this month.

According to multiple reports, the boxing star is set to earn under $15 million dollars, almost double of his salary from his epic clash against heavyweight rival, Deontay Wilder.

Since his controversial split draw with Wilder, Fury has won two straight boxing bouts, beating Tom Schwarz in easy fashion while surviving a scare from Otto Wallin.

Recovering from an eye injury, Fury is rumored to fight Wilder in February 2020 for their highly-anticipated rematch.

But the road to that fight is set to become tougher as ‘The Gypsy King’ is eyeing to try his might in the Octagon this year.

Crossover

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, the 31-year old boxer announced that he might be making his MMA debut this year after his first outing at the WWE on October 31.

“I’ve got something epic coming up, after this. Even more bigger than this,” he teased, (transcript from Bloody Elbow.)

“Yeah, we might see Tyson Fury have his MMA debut this year too,”

“It’s different but like I say, ‘Tyson Fury, taking over.’”

If this happens, Fury will be training under the tutelage of no less than the fomer UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, Conor McGregor.

Fury said he has been in touch with the Irishman, who wants him to train in Dublin.

“Yeah, I’ve been speaking to Conor [McGregor] about it, and he’s willing to train me. And it’s gonna be good.”

“He just said, any time you’re ready, when you get the time, let’s go.”

“Come over to Dublin, and we’ll start training. So, can’t wait! Gonna take him up on the offer.”

Nothing New

Despite his inexperience in MMA, the lineal heavyweight champion is not worried about how he would fare in his first fight.

“Yeah, but I come from a long line of bare knuckle boxing champions,”

“Getting hurt, getting bloody – you saw my last fight, blood everywhere – nothing new to me.”

“All a part of my heritage and upbringing. So, I’d love to get in there and smash someone up.”

If he gets signed by the UFC, Fury said MMA fans might see him and McGregor in a single fight card.

“Who knows, who knows? We might be on a double header. The ‘Gypsy King’ and Conor McGregor. It even rhymes, doesn’t it? Double header, Gypsy King and Conor McGregor! Wooo!”

Would you love to see Tyson Fury fight in the cage? Who do you think is the worthy opponent for the heavyweight boxer?
