Tyson Fury Shares What Happened When He Sparred Anthony Joshua In 2012

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua has agreed to work together to bring down their heavyweight rival, Deontay Wilder.

Anticipated as one of the biggest boxing fights in 2020, Fury and Wilder will meet again in the squared circle for the re-run of the December 2018 showdown, which ended in a controversial split draw.

Joshua is not just rooting for ‘The Gypsy King’ to win as he also wants to help Fury by joining his training camp.

Earlier this week, Joshua made a public offer to his fellow Briton to be his sparring partner in preparation for his upcoming rematch with the WBC heavyweight champion.

“Honestly, I think Fury might beat Deontay Wilder next time they’re out. That’s just my opinion,” AJ told Sky Sports.

“I think Tyson Fury would fight me quicker than Wilder would.”

“If that’s the case, I want Fury to win, because I just want to fight.”

“To have that fight here on British soil? Man, can you imagine that?”

“Fury, if you need me for sparring, we’re going to fight one day. I’ve sparred Tyson Fury when we were kids anyway.”

No Problem

“I would go out to America and spar Tyson Fury and get him ready for this Wilder fight,” Joshua continued.

“I would like that fight, because I think Fury would fight me faster than Wilder would.”

“To have that fight here on British soil? Man, can you imagine that?!”

Aiming to give the American power hitter a ‘proper beating,’ Fury has accepted Joshua’s offer.

“I would love to have you in camp, work out for this fight and give Deontay Wilder a proper beating,” the Gypsy King responded.

“I hope you mean it, as I’d love to have you in training camp with me.”

“When I do beat Wilder I will fight you AJ no problem.”

Big Swings

But many years ago, the heavyweight superstars have already shared the ring for a sparring, according to Fury himself.

“We’ve had a spar before,” Fury said in a previous interview with Showtime.

“Amateur boxer he was at the time, he had a good couple of rounds and then I started hitting him round the body.

“He was like this, lifting his legs up in the corner. There were 10 people in the gym who saw him do it.”

“I’m there with my hands down and flicking him, leaning out of the way. He’s coming forward with big swings.”

“How’s he going to hit me? I said: ‘Go on then, put one on me, I’ll stand still for you’. He just can’t win. It was what it was.”
