Tyson Fury Responds To Stipe Miocic Calling For Crossover Fight

Boxing superstar Tyson Fury says he needs to take care of business first with Deontay Wilder before he can face UFC’s Stipe Miocic in a crossover fight.

The British sensation is currently making waves not just in boxing but also in wrestling and in mixed martial arts.

Last month, he made his first official wrestling match at the WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, defeating Braun Strowman via count-out.

Following a successful WWE debut, Fury recently announced that he will be starting a career in MMA, with plans to train under the tutelage of former UFC two-weight champion, Conor McGregor.

In a serious bid to foray into MMA, the boxing star has began his training, but he was joined by fellow Briton, Darren Till, in his gym in England.

With footage of his MMA training going viral, the reigning king of the UFC heavyweight division said he wants to cross the bridge and fight Fury in the squared circle.

Boxing Offer

Speaking to Ariel Helwani on Monday, Miocic said he has a changed of heart about the trilogy fight with Daniel Cormier.

This after he proved that his win in their rematch  at UFC 241 last August was no fluke.

The 37-year old champ is now setting his sights on a boxing fight with Fury, in what he guarantees as a major treat to combat sports fans.

“He’s a talented fighter, so he’s definitely going to have good striking,” Miocic said of Fury’s skills, (transcript from MMA Junkie).

“But anyone can make a (30-second) highlight reel. It’s still good, but I can do that too.”

“… Definitely if he wants to step into the Octagon, I’ll love it. I’ll step in the ring. I’d love to box him.”

“I would love to box him. He’s a great fighter. He’s a good dude and we’d put on a good show.”

The lineal heavyweight champion has accepted Miocic’s offer but the fight won’t happen until his rematch with Wilder, which is reportedly scheduled for February 2020.

“Stipe says he wants to box me, that would be a good fight for sure,” Fury told MTK Global.

“After I get Wilder out of the way I’ll fight Stipe in a boxing match if he wants it.”

‘The Gypsy King’ said this crossover fight would be as big as the Mayweather vs McGregor money fight in 2017 and assured that he would win against the 265-pound champ.

“It would be a big crossover fight like Mayweather and McGregor.”

“I’m open to that fight so he should come and see me. It would be the same outcome for any of them, they’ll all get smashed.”

“It was exciting training with Darren Till and we get on like a house on fire, he put me through a hard training session and it was really good.”
