Tyson Fury Reveals Bizarre Method To ‘Toughen Up’ For Deontay Wilder Rematch

Tyson Fury has revealed his bizarre method for toughening up his hands ahead of his blockbuster rematch with Deontay Wilder.

The Gypsy King hasn’t been afraid to think outside the box when it comes to preparing for the heavily anticipated showdown on February 22.

Fury recently claimed he’d try ‘pretty much anything’ to get the upper hand on the Bronze Bomber in their second meeting.

He even admitted he’s been masturbating seven times a day to keep his testosterone levels high.

 ‘Toughen Up’

And the British heavyweight has now revealed another out-there method he’ll use, something he’s learned from old bare-knuckle boxing traditions.

Speaking to Gareth A Davies, Fury explained: “I was speaking to an old legendary bare-knuckle fighter from the travelling community, he’s called Big Joe Joyce.

“He told me about dipping his hands in petrol, to toughen them up.”

“So for this fight I’ll be dipping my hands in petrol for five minutes a day during the last three or four weeks of the training camp to really toughen them up.”

“It worked for him, so I’m going to give it a try.”

 Controversial Draw

Fury met Wilder for the first time back in December 2018, when the pair went the distance to come to a controversial draw.

Fury had to drag himself off the canvas after an emphatic knockdown by Wilder in the 12th round, but he still believed he’d done enough to win the fight.

In a social media rant, Fury said he beat Wilder ‘on fifty percent’, and vowed to knock out the American the next time they met.

On Instagram, he said: “You’ve only fought one good man in your career and that’s me, and I beat you.

“And everybody in the world knows you lost to The Gypsy King.”

“A half mast Gypsy King that was out the ring for three years still beat you on fifty percent.”

“You’re getting busted next time I meet you.”

“I ain’t afraid of you, I ain’t bothered about you bum”

“You’re getting it.”

“You know you lost, your trainer knows you lost, your manager, promoter, your wife, your kids.

“They all know the Gypsy King bettered you”

“I’m coming for you, p***y.”

 Other Measures

There are a number of other measures the Gypsy King has employed as he seeks the advantage over Wilder.

Fury recently replaced long-time trainer and friend Ben Davison with knockout expert Sugar Hill Steward.

He’s also employed a cut expert specifically to address the horror cut he suffered against Otto Wallin.

Additionally, the former heavyweight champion recently banned cameras from his gym, deeming the media an unnecessary distraction in his preparations.

Fury insists he won the first fight.

And he’s doing everything in his power to ensure there’s no doubt this time around.

But will the Gypsy King reign as the new WBC Heavyweight Champion come February 22?
