Tyson Fury reportedly suffered serious injuries after winning the title against Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 claims a family friend.
The Gypsy King shocked the world by beating Kitschko to claim the claim the IBF, WBA and WBO titles.
However, that did not last long as he struggled with mental and drug issues which forced the Britisher to relinquish his titles and take a sabbatical from the sport.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Boxing With Costello and Bunce, boxing pundit Steve Bunce believes that Fury’s problems started the day after the fight as he had suffered from some horrifying injuries.

“It sounds like a boxing cliche, but it’s been a rocky road to say the least. And there was something awful that following morning in Dusseldorf. Everyone was celebrating, of course, but I remember talking to Mick Hennessy who was his manager, promoter and friend at that time. He said it would be really hard to keep all of these belts together,” he said in an interview.
“He had a phone call in the middle of the night by Vyacheslav Glazkov’s promoter, not even five hours after the victory trying to make that fight. At that point, Tyson Fury couldn’t even walk because he’d worn cheap socks in the ring and he had phenomenal blisters, like open bed sores, on his feet. The next morning when he got up, he dressed in a suit for breakfast with flips flops and loads of ridiculous plasters, trying to conceal and heal the wounds he’d got from that dancing masterclass.”
Fury though is set to make a comeback after two years when he faces Sefer Seferi on Saturday at the Manchester Arena. Will he be able to fight like the Fury of old? Only time will tell.
