Tyson Fury Reveals He Has Been Offered Exhibition Fight With Mike Tyson

Reigning WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has revealed he has been contacted about potentially fighting Mike Tyson in an exhibition bout.

The former undisputed heavyweight champion has been training hard for a sensational return to the ring fifteen years since his retirement as he looks to compete in non-professional bouts for charity.

“That’s all I’ve been doing, getting into shape,” he shared.

“I feel unstoppable now. I feel the same again. The gods of war ignited my ego and want me to go to war again. Imagine if I went out there and fought and I could help all these people we talked about.”

The Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship is reportedly set to offer ‘Iron Mike’ more than $20 million for a bare knuckle fight potentially against Wanderlei Silva while a trilogy bout with his former rival Evander Holyfield is currently being finalized.

Tyson vs Tyson

‘The Gypsy King’ told BT Sport in a recent interview that he has agreed to share the squared circle with the boxing legend on his comeback but things did not materialise.

“I did get a phone call with a chance to fight Mike Tyson. I was like, ‘What?’ Yeah, I had a phone call saying, ‘Would you like to fight Mike Tyson in an exhibition fight?’ I was like, ‘Hell yeah!’” Fury shared.

“But I don’t think anything’s materialised out of it to be honest. So yeah I think he’s definitely serious about doing some fights or whatever, but he’s fought Holyfield twice so they’re both old now, so I think they’re a bit long in the teeth.

“But who am I to say anything, what anybody’s capable of? After everybody’s unbelievable stories I wouldn’t try and kill anybody’s dreams.”

“If they’re both fit to fight and medically fit, then let them do what they want to do. It’s their life, not mine.”

Not Fair

In an Instagram live session, the British fan-favourite said he is not a fan of the idea of pitting Tyson against the current heavyweights as he believes Tyson’s opponent should be a boxer of his own age.

“If they fight exhibitions, it’s between them and people their own age. I wouldn’t like to see Mike fighting one of the top heavyweights because obviously 55 vs 35 or 30 is just not fair.”

“But to see him fight someone his old age, an old-timer as well, fantastic, I’d love to see it.”

“If he’s definitely serious about it, I’ll buy it on pay-per-view for sure. There’s one buy right here.”
