Tyson Fury has unleashed a scathing attack on Deontay Wilder and claims that he won in their first fight back in December 2018.
Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder first met in the ring in Los Angeles with the WBC heavyweight title on the line, going the distance in what eventually ended as a draw.
The pair will go head-to-head once again in February 2020 as Fury has a second attempt at becoming champion.
Strong Message
But Fury believes he beat the ‘Bronze Bomber’ the first time, after emphatically climbing off the canvas in the 12th round despite looking out for the count.
And he took to social media with a strong message for the champion.
Fury laid into Wilder’s career and questioned his selection of opponents. In a video posted on Instagram, he said:
“This is a special message to Deontay Wilder the big dosser.”
“He goes round saying he fights the best heavyweights, but Dom Brezeale isn’t the best heavyweight and neither is Luis Ortiz,”
“[They’re] average at best,”
“You bum, you go round fighting the best do you?”
‘You’re Getting It’
The Brit went on to claim that he beat Wilder fair and square, and promises he will finish the job when they meet again in February.
“You’ve only fought one good man in your career and that’s me, and I beat you. And everybody in the world knows you lost to The Gypsy King.”
“A half mast Gypsy King that was out the ring for three years still beat you on fifty percent.”
“You’re getting busted next time I meet you.”
“I ain’t afraid of you, I ain’t bothered about you bum”
“You’re getting it.”
“You know you lost, your trainer knows you lost, your manager, promoter, your wife, your kids. They all know the Gypsy King bettered you”
“I’m coming for you, p***y.”
New Face
Despite being confident that he won in the first bout, Fury has changed things up ahead of the rematch.
He’s opted to replace trainer and friend Ben Davison with SugarHill Steward, nephew of the legendary Emmanuel Steward.
Steward has a technical focus, and footage recently revealed Fury displaying explosive hand-speed.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Steward said: “He wanted a trainer who was technical.”
“He wants to be very technical. We will work on his technique. These are the characteristics he was looking for when he called me, and I fit the description.”
With a new face in the corner, and a more conditioned, technical approach from the Gypsy King, we could see a completely different game-plan when the two step into the ring for a second time.
