Snoop Dogg Is Releasing An Album Of Baby Lullabies

Snoop Dogg is releasing an album of lullaby renditions of his famous hits to be listened to specifically by infants.

Younger Demographic

The 48-year-old hip-hop legend has ventured down numerous musical avenues throughout his career, delving into reggae, funk and even gospel music, and has also tried his hand as a producer, actor and entrepreneur.

But now the California rapper has turned his attention to a much younger demographic when it comes to his target audience, compiling an album of remastered versions of his songs designed to send babies to sleep.

Drop It Like It’s For Tots

Some of the rappers songs, such as ‘Sensual Seduction’, have been known to feature explicit and sometimes offensive material. Fortunately for parents though, the new project will have no lyrics.

The album, ‘Lullaby Renditions of Snoop Dogg’, is being produced by Rockabye Baby! Music and will consist of baby-friendly instrumentals of Snoop’s hit songs, including ‘Gin and Juice’ and ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’.

Rockabye Baby! Music is a California based music company that has produced instrumental cover albums of various artists in the past, including rappers Drake, Eminem and Kanye West.

Not For The Money

When asked what keeps him motivated in his career, Snoop recently revealed that he doesn’t make music for the money, but instead because he enjoys making and listening to good music.

Snoop said: “I love the way that good music feels. Even if it ain’t mine, I just love how that s**t feels.”

“But when it’s mine it feels even better because I’m able to do it. I’ve made projects before that weren’t good, but they felt good to me. And that’s all I give a f**k about.”

“I don’t care about this sold eight million, 100,000, 22,000 or 17. Who cares? If you ain’t doing it for the feeling, you’re doing it for the wrong reasons. You should never be doing it to make money or become famous. That isn’t what this game was built on.”

“Anyone who’s ever been successful or a megastar? They love this s**t first and foremost, more than anything.”

The album is set to December 6, although a vinyl edition was brought out last month to coincide with Record Store Day on November 29.

Meanwhile, the rapper has recently announced details of a full UK arena tour coming in spring 2020.

Snoop released his 17th album entitled ‘I Wanna Thank Me’ in August this year and will showcase it around the UK in April.
