Jairzinho Rozenstruik Reacts After Destroying Alistair Overeem’s Face

Jairzinho Rozenstruik has reacted to his brutal victory against Alistair Overeem, which saw him inflict a vicious injury on his opponent.

Rozenstruik has spoken out about the victory and revealed the next step in his career.

 Lacklustre

Rozenstruik and Overeem went head-to-head in the Octagon on Saturday for a much-anticipated heavyweight showdown.

The fight was lacklustre in the opening rounds, with little action and the pair clinching often, resulting in murmurs of discontent from the onlooking fans.

The Surinamese fighter was moments away from defeat, down 4-0 on the judges scorecards, before he issued a vicious blow that saw his rivals lip explode and the fight stopped with just four seconds left on the clock.

One Shot, One Kill

The 31-year-old reacted calmly after clinching a last gasp victory. In his post-fight Octagon interview he said: “It was a hard fight, he’s a really smart guy. He made me work.”

“Finally, knock him out-”

“I don’t need too much, one shot, one kill.”

‘Bigi Boy’ opted not to touch gloves with Overeem at the start of the fight, and said he doesn’t think he was shown enough respect in the build-up, saying: “I think Alistair made one big mistake,”

“He said I’m not his level. He definitely did not respect what I do.”

“I put a lot of work in for this, trained four months for this fight. To say that, I think he’s missing something.”

“Going deep is what we do every day in the gym, and it’s what I showed today.”

“I showed some hard rounds right here and knocked him out in the last round.”

“When you work hard you can do those things.”

 Undefeated

The victory puts puts Rozenstruik at 10-0 in his career, and the undefeated heavyweight has now set his sights on his next fight.

When asked when fans could expect to see him back in the Octagon, he said: “I wanna be back like March or April.”

“I really want to fight this big scary guy, Francis Ngannou,”

“If you hear this right now, I hope you accept this fight. Man, let’s give these people a real show.”

Whilst Rozenstruik looks forward to his next career move, ‘The Reem’ suggested the fight may have been stopped a little early.

He wrote on Twitter: “Getting stitched up. Lip not to sexy at the moment.. a little bit a fast stoppage if u ask me – but hope u guys enjoyed the fight”

Tongue-in-cheek

The tweet may have been a litte tongue-in-cheek, considering his face had just exploded, but it’s good to the 39-year-old come out in good spirits having been so close to a victory before being brutally dished the 14th knockout loss of his career.
