Conor McGregor, Mike Tyson, Anthony Joshua Share Predictions For Wilder-Fury II

Some of the biggest stars in the combat sports world have given their predictions for the much-awaited rematch between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.

On Saturday, the American champion will put his WBC heavyweight title on the line as he clashes with Fury in a re-run of their December 2018 showdown that ended in a controversial split draw.

Both heavyweights are coming off back-to-back wins in two tune up fights, with Wilder knocking out Dominic Breazeale and Luis Ortiz respectively while Fury made short work of Tom Schwarz before surviving Otto Wallin in a close fight.

Ahead of this titanic clash, boxing legend Mike Tyson, Ultimate Fighting Championship star Conor McGregor, and two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua said they are leaning towards the British fighter to dethrone Wilder.

Interestingly, it was only the former two-weight boxing champ David Haye who picked Wilder as the eventual winner of Saturday’s blockbuster affair.

The Target

Wilder, who will march on his 11th straight title-defence, is not just going for the knockout but is also targeting to reopen the cut on Fury’s eye that he sustained last September.

“That fight should’ve been stopped with a cut so deep and I look forward to re-cutting that eye,” The Bronze Bomber said.

“Once it’s open again and the blood is in his face I’m coming in for the kill. I don’t play around.”

“I knocked him out the first time but I didn’t get it and I’m going to knock him out again.”

“Is there any risk? I don’t know because I am not a surgeon.””

“I am sure there will be. There is nothing much I can do about that.

“If it opens, up it opens up. It’s out of my control. There is nothing I can do about that eye opening in a fight.”

Going For The Kill

Meanwhile, Fury said he will not allow the fight to go down to scorecards as he looks to go out swinging and finish the American champ in his territory.

“Because it’s Las Vegas and I want to put on a show,” the Briton said.

“I want a knockout this time. I’d prefer to go down swinging than outboxing him and not getting the decision. That means I’ve lost. Draw equals loss to me.”

“Rather than lose then I’ll go out swinging. I’m not getting an unfair decision this time. I’m going to make it so I’m in control and I take it out of anybody’s hand.”

“I knew coming back to America that I couldn’t come on a whim again and get a fair decision.”

“Deontay Wilder is the only heavyweight champion America has had in a long time and he is the longest reigning since Muhammad Ali and they don’t want to let him go.”

“But the Gypsy King is going to dethrone him, rip his heart out and feed it to him.”
