Tyson Fury is known for his technical boxing skills but on Saturday night, he showed he also packs a lot of power.
The 6-foot-9 Briton locked horns with Deontay Wilder for their much-awaited rematch, with the WBC, Ring, and Lineal heavyweight titles on the line.
The heavyweight rivals first fought up to a controversial split draw in December 2018 before winning a pair of tune up fights each heading into the rematch.
What many expected as a close fight turned out to be a one-sided affair as Fury dominated the defending champion in seven rounds, highlighted with two knockdowns in the third and fifth round – the first time Wilder was dropped in his boxing career.
At the 1:39 mark in the seventh round, Wilder’s corner had seen enough, which forced him to throw in the towel, leading to the stoppage.
Fury ended the American’s five-year reign as the WBC heavyweight champion and gave him his first loss in 44 professional bouts.
Showing His Power
Following the victory, ‘The Gypsy King’ slammed his heavyweight rival for mocking his striking skills ahead of the rematch.
“Don’t forget, when I came here they said I can’t punch,” Fury said (per Talk Sport).
“Deontay Wilder said himself that I’ve got two pillow fists.”
“But you know, not bad for an old fat guy who can’t punch, eh? Done alright, didn’t I?”
“I’m an old feather duster who can’t break an egg.”
In an incredible ringside footage that surfaced on social media, Fury displayed his vicious punching power when he sent Wilder to the mat in the third round with a brutal right hand.

Trilogy Bout
According to reports, Wilder suffered a brutal cut on his left ear, which came from Fury’s knockdown punch in the third frame.
Meanwhile, the newly-crowned WBC heavyweight champ has assured the American of a trilogy bout, with the Raiders Stadium being eyed as the potential venue.
“People look at my fat belly and my bald head and they think I cannot fight,” Fury said.
“I had my mental problems and issues and I was out of the ring three years. But he was fighting the real Gypsy King this time.”
“I expect he will want a rematch and I will have that. Great fights should have trilogies. “
“And I want it here, just across the road, at the Raiders Stadium outdoors in front of 70,000”.
