Mike Tyson went wild after his namesake, Tyson Fury, captured the WBC heavyweight championship on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
The boxing legend was in attendance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena when Fury tussled with Deontay Wilder for the re-run of their contentious December 2018 fight.
Weighing 273 pounds, up from 256.5 pounds in the first fight, many speculated the British behemoth was out of shape for the rematch.
But ‘The Gypsy King’ proved his doubters wrong as he pulled off the best performance of his career, dropping Wilder twice before stopping him in the seventh round in what many considered as a pure boxing masterclass from Fury.
Moments after Wilder’s corner threw in the towel, ‘Iron Mike’ was seen wildly celebrating Fury’s emphatic victory, which gave the American the first loss of his career and ended his five-year reign as the WBC heavyweight champion.

The legendary boxer has also taken to Twitter to praise the Briton for dominating the heavyweight boxer with the highest knockout percentage in history.
Ahead of the rematch, Tyson revealed he has personal bias towards ‘The Gypsy King,’ admitting he is a big fan of Fury.
“I like both of them as fighters, they both came from nothing and achieved becoming heavyweight champion, you have to respect that, I was in their position one time,” the 53-year old legend said (per Boxing on BT Sport)
“In the first fight I was hoping for Tyson Fury, I always pulled for him because he was named after me, that is the natural thing to do, right?”
“I was always biased toward him. He is very likeable, he is a nice person.”
“I never understood Tyson, I just kept seeing him beating decent fighters. ‘I didn’t know if they were washed up or throwing the fights because Tyson did not look like he should be beating them.”
“But he was and he was laughing at them, that made me a fan. He is so much better than what he appears to be and looks like.”
“[The rematch] will be a really interesting fight because both guys will have something to prove. I just wish the best for Tyson Fury, I’m a Tyson fan.”
Fury has called for a trilogy bout with ‘The Bronze Bomber,’ saying he wants it to happen at the Raiders Stadium in Las Vegas in front of 70 000 fans.
Boxing fans are also campaigning for a unification bout between Fury and Anthony Joshua in what could be the biggest boxing fight in the United Kingdom.
