Mick Foley, the former WWE star known for finishing moves such as the Mandible Claw and the Double Arm DDT, was left red-faced yesterday after he was forced to take to Twitter to contact Instagram about being locked out of his account.
Having obviously been shunned by Instagram’s customer service team, the Indiana resident was left with only one option after being bolted out for months.
The message reads ‘Dear Instagram…
‘I hope you can help me out. I have been locked out of my account for the last few months – since the exact day I had my account verified.
‘My emails to tech support have gone unanswered. Can you DM please?
‘Sincerely, Mick Foley.’
Upon checking his official Instagram account, it appears the social media giants have still not answered his pleas – his last post was on the 9th March.
Foley’s fans reacted under his tweet, but rather than appreciating the comic value of what he’d written, most were voicing their own stories of their fruitless attempts to contact the IG tech team.
Some, however, were more humorous with replies, with quite a few followers commenting that Foley should ‘bring back Mr. Socko to sort it out.’
Some were surprised and gutted that Mick hadn’t used the opportunity to sign off his letter with his signature catchphrase, ‘have a nice day!’.
The 56-year-old gave up wrestling in 2012 after almost thirty years in the game. Throughout his time at the top, he showcased a multitude of alter-egos, such as Cactus Jack, Dude Love and Mankind. These three characters respectively came to be known as the ‘Three Faces of Foley’. One commenter alluded to this in his offering of an explanation to Foley as to why Instagram had locked him out:
Someone else said that Instagram were ‘doing Mick worse than The Undertaker did’, with a GIF attached of the latter’s elbow drop on Mick from the top of a Hell-in-a-cell cage.
Despite the jokes, we don’t think Mick’s laughing, and hope he gets back into his Instagram account soon.
