It has been more than a year since the boxing match between Mayweather and McGregor, which was dubbed as “The Money Fight,” happened.
The bout between one of the most successful boxers in history and the Irish UFC star took place at the T-Mobile Arena on August 26, 2017.
The Notorious, who made his debut in professional boxing, started strong in the match, only to falter in the middle rounds. As the Irish star began losing his rhythm, Mayweather saw the perfect opportunity to display his dominance over his challenger.
Mayweather eventually won via round 10 TKO, but both fighters made a massive fortune out of the fight.
The promotion for the fight was insane, but many fans were disappointed with the ‘overrated’ fight as it didn’t really live up to everyone’s expectations. It is said to have looked more like an exhibition than an actual boxing match.
And even though they now come from different combat sports, the two fighters still have an active rivalry on social media.
It all started when Mayweather recently opened himself up and talked about his desire to help McGregor with his training in Vegas.
McGregor is set to face against his chief rival in UFC, current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, which is Mayweather offered such.
“I know that UFC got a training facility but we’d like for him to work out at the Mayweather Boxing Club. Conor’s not gonna back down and he’s not a scared fighter at all, so win, lose or draw, Conor gonna come to fight,” Mayweather said to TMZ Sports.
Despite Mayweather’s initiative to help, it seems McGregor isn’t in for any peace. On a recent, tweet, he slammed the Mayweathers saying:
Fuck the Mayweathers, except Senior and Roger.
There is no peace here kid.
Step up or step down.

Mayweather vs McGregor 2?
In a recent interview with Helen Yee, Floyd Mayweather Sr. said that he believes his son’s recent social media scrap with McGregor allows for the possibility that both fighters are interested in a rematch.
”It’s sounding like him and Conor McGregor are going to fight,” Mayweather Sr. said (via MMA Mania’s Ryan Harkness.) “That’s what it sounds like. I don’t know for sure, but I’m just saying the way things are sounding to me. It sounds like [Floyd’s] going to fight again, and Conor McGregor, he wants to fight again. Even though he don’t want to fight again, but he’ll fight again just to show his people what he can do – which is nothing.”
”I’m just saying, I think they’re gonna fight the same way,” he said. “I think Conor McGregor wants that win back that he had, which is never coming back to him anyways. It’s being talked about and it sounds like a lot of interest is in it right now.”
