LeBron James Reacts To Conor McGregor Saying He’s Inspired By His Actions

NBA superstar LeBron James has responded to Conor McGregor’s claim that he is inspired by his actions.

‘The Notorious’ from Ireland is set to return to the Octagon this Saturday as he takes on Donald Cerrone in the main event of UFC 246 fight card in Las Vegas.

McGregor holds the top three highest pay-per-view buys in the UFC history, with his clash against Khabib Nurmagomedov smashing all records.

Ahead of his much-awaited comeback, the former two-division champ talked about his inspirations, which includes the multi-awarded cager.

“I actually said this to Tony Robbins, right?” McGregor told ESPN, (via BJPenn.com).

“Because I read something about LeBron James a while back, about maybe a year ago.”

“He spent $1.5 million annually on his health, his self, his everything, his nutritionist – and I spent nothing.”

“Only in camp (do) I bring a team together. That’s not the way to do this, but I drop money on a bleeding car or a watch.”

“I’m like, ‘Spend on myself, my health, and my fitness.’ That’s helped me. Then you acquire more. You’re going to acquire even more then.”

Humbled

James, who now plays for the Los Angeles Lakers, said he is happy that he is able to inspire other athletes such as the UFC star with his lifestyle.

“To be in all honesty, I play the game and I train my body,” LeBron James shared, (via MMA Junkie).

“I put the work into my body to hope to inspire other athletes around the world – other great athletes.”

“If I’m able to rub off on Conor and other athletes that feel like it’s beneficial to them, I think that’s a pretty cool thing. It’s humbling for one.”

“I take my body very seriously. I’m just trying to maximize my career and see how long I can continue to play the game that I love.”

“It starts with the body. It ends with the mind. If the mind is sharp, then you can go a lot longer than you may think. That’s what it’s all about.”

“You’ve got to be disciplined. It’s all about discipline, as well.”

Jacked

McGregor will appear on his first welterweight bout in three years and he has added more muscles to reach the weight limit.

While some MMA fans fear he might gas out against Cerrone, McGregor is confident he will walk away with the win.

The Irishman is also setting his sights on capturing the BMF title from Jorge Masvidal and the welterweight title from Kamaru Usman.

On top of these things, he wants to have another shot at the lightweight championship in a rematch against Nurmagomedov.

McGregor currently has a 21-4 overall record and is looking to score his first MMA win since his victory over Eddie Alvarez.
