Khabib Nurmagomedov has reminded Conor McGregor how he was badly beaten in their October 2018 title fight, following the Irishman’s latest social media rant.
McGregor, a former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion, took to Twitter on Monday to rip into his rivals at 155-pounds after Justin Gaethje shocked the world at UFC 249 by defeating the top contender Tony Ferguson.
“The fans make the sport! Watching the other night I was against going in without them,” McGregor began.
He then declared he is fighting the newly crowned interim champion when he returns to action later this year while taking aim at his fiercest enemy.
“But it will be my fucking pleasure to display the power I possess with zero background noise for them. Its me and Justin next as khabib is the biggest bottle fighter in the game. Guarantee it.”
Continuing, ‘The Notorious’ told Gaethje that Khabib is not the real threat in the lightweight class and vowed to use his teeth as an accessory when he ‘butchers’ him in the Octagon.
“Justin, there is no danger in a man that hugs legs, we all know. Try and dance around what the real threat is here all you want. I am going to fucking butcher you. Your teeth. I’m going to put them on a fucking necklace. Speak on my skills as a father? You are fucking dead.”
Turning his attention to Khabib, the Irish star called the Russian ‘an absolute embarrassment’ for his reaction to the UFC 249 main event bout.
“Khabib you absolute embarrassment. Scurrying, hiding rat as usual. As I have said many times. As has been seen many times. Through the pane of glass it was confirmed what was always known. “No comment” lol. An embarrassment to real fighting.”
Nurmagomedov quickly fired back and stressed how his fighting style ended McGregor in their blockbuster fight two years ago.
“Hug legs? Have you forgot how I knock you down, or you typing tweets drunk? Beat you in striking, parts you up in wrestling, absolutely destroy you in grappling, Made you grab air with your hands, and at the end you gave up. last one, don’t forget your words ‘it’s only business’”
In a separate tweet, Khabib posted a photo of his fourth-round submission of McGregor with a caption, “Yes, we remember you. You was so nice that night, be same, don’t be fake.”
