Some people get inked with the names of the people dearest to them or the designs they have a story to tell about. A lady from Melbourne did too, getting the name of her favourite fried chicken food chain permanently written at the back of her lips.
Tabatha Andrade is a 20-year-old woman from Australia who was told to get ‘inked with something that’s important to her.’ Without second thoughts, she got that tattoo she dreamt of on the inside of her bottom lips: K-F-C.
While on holiday in November 2018, the Australian chicken-nugget-lover decided to get a tattoo that means a lot to her. In an interview, Tabatha detailed how she arrived at getting the name of a fast food chain inked on her lip.
“I told my parents I wanted to get a tattoo, and they said I could get inked with something that was important to me,” Tabatha said via Unilad.
When the Melbourne native who also has another tattoo of the word ‘family’, said she loves KFC, it’s not an understatement. Tabatha really is a fan of the American food chain; fried chicken at that.
“I was on holidays up in Queensland when the urge just suddenly came to me, and I decided to finally do it. KFC is my favourite fast food. I go there at least once a week, if not more.”
“It does mean a lot to me, so it seemed fitting to get this tattoo. I really love chicken. All my friends call me the chicken connoisseur. I even named my dog ‘nugget’, because I’m obsessed with chicken nuggets.”
Love the Shock
While most people think it’s a little awful to get such a tattoo, the Australian lady who works in banking says she absolutely has zero regrets. In fact, she’s loving the ‘lols’ and the ‘ohs.’
“It did not hurt at all. It’s my favourite tattoo,” Tabatha said.
“I got the idea of doing it on the lip from Kendall Jenner. It seems to be popular these days, so I just thought why not. I showed my parents when I came home, and they thought it was fake. But they’re okay with it now.”
“The tattoo artist laughed so hard when I told him what I wanted. It didn’t hurt at all. It only took about two minutes. I love the shock I get from people when I pull down my lip and show them. It’s always so funny.”
After getting her name in circulation for the odd tattoo, the 20-year-old fanatic now hopes her beloved fried chicken company notices her devotion and gives her some of the Colonel’s finest.
