Kamaru Usman has reacted to abusive comments towards Conor McGregor and his partner Dee Devlin, which were made from Usman’s Twitter account.
McGregor’s emphatic victory over Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in his UFC comeback was marred by a stream of offensive comments online.
Usman’s social media account posted abusive messages directed towards McGregor and his family during the build-up to UFC 246.
The tweets read: “Conor McGregor is a Irish pussy, n**** I’ll f*** your wife while slapping the f*** outta you punk.”
“I’ll be raw dogging the f*** outta [McGregor’s] wife on gang n****.”

Shortly after, a tweet from Usman’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, claimed that the account had been hacked and UFC were working to recover it.
The tweet read: “Guys Kamaru Usman’s @USMAN84kg Twitter has been hacked UFC is working on getting it back.”
Karma
‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has now reacted to the comments that came from his account, and says the culprits will get what they deserve.
Taking to social media to address the situation, Usman tweeted: “It’s really sad and scary that we live in a world where someone can wake up only with the intentions to cause harm to someone else.”
“Whomever it was that did what you did Saturday night, Just know that KARMA catches us all.”
Fiery
McGregor has been known in the past for his fiery and confrontational personality, something that’s landed the Dubliner in troubled waters in the last couple of years.
The obscene tweets from Usman’s account therefore may have been expected to get a rise out of the Irish star.
UFC President Dana White said he immediately called McGregor to try and diffuse the situation.
“I phoned Conor and said don’t do anything, don’t react,” White said.
“Usman and Ali were sitting right in front of where Conor came out.”
“The first thing I did was to tell Conor; he didn’t believe he was hacked.”
Calm
Notorious seems to have turned a page in his career however, appearing more calm and humble than in the past.
And the former champion reacted to the ordeal a lot more coolly than we may have seen previously.
He did however voice doubts over claims it was a ‘hacking’, and expressed his belief it was Abdelaziz who was the one behind it all.
“I am sceptical of that. One came through early and it had all the hallmarks of that f *** weasel Ali.”
“They give him control of the accounts. He gets something and writes it through their thing.”
“I’ve been in discussions with these athletes about helping them out and I know what would happen.”
“The first one had all the hallmarks of your man who has done it in the past.”
“Dana sent a message to say it had happened but I only saw the first one.”
“This has been happening for years, I’ve been dealing with this for a long time.”
New Focus
McGregor knocked out Cerrone in just 40 seconds and now looks to climb back to the top of the UFC, with two more fights planned for 2020.
With a new focus and determination from McGregor, and in light of recent events, could we see a clash between Notorious and the Nigerian Nightmare?
