Jorge Masvidal Offers To Help Put Out Devastating Wildfires In Australia

Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight star Jorge Masvidal is eager to extend a helping hand to firefighters battling massive wildfires in Australia.

Masvidal, who won the ‘baddest motherf***er’ title last November, is one of the most successful fighters in 2019 after going 3-0 in the UFC, which includes the fastest knockout in the promotion’s history.

While waiting for his next fight, ‘Gamebred’ said he will fly to Australia next month as he seeks to help in fighting the catastrophic bushfires that has already killed 24 people.

“I’ll be in Australia in February and would like to help. Proceeds from my visit will go to help but I also want to physically help put out the fires. #TheResurrection”

Global support has poured in for the embattled nation with more than $17 million raised as hundreds of properties have been destroyed by the wildfires, which also prompted mandatory evacuation of thousands of families.

American singer and songwriter Pink has donated $500 000 to the firefighters while tennis star Ashleigh Barty pledged to give away all her prize money from the Brisbane International Tournament to Red Cross.

Actress Nicole Kidman and country singer Keith Urban are also donating $500 000 worth of funds to Australian firefighters.

“Our family’s support, thoughts, and prayers are with everyone affected by the fires all over Australia,” the couple posted on social media.

“We are donating $500 000 to the Rural Fire services who are all doing and giving so much right now.”

Meanwhile, the famed Irwin family are giving treatment to over 90 000 injured animals as the wildfires threaten to wipe out the entire species.

According to multiple reports, almost 500 000 000 million birds, mammals, and reptiles in New South Wales have been killed by the bushfires that sparked in September.

”With so many devastating fires within Australia, my heart breaks for the people and wildlife who have lost so much,” Bindi Irwin wrote on Instagram.

“I wanted to let you know that we are SAFE. There are no fire near as @AustraliaZoo or our conservation properties.”

“Our Wildlife Hospital is busier than ever though, having officially treated over 90,000 patients. My parents dedicated our Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital to my beautiful grandmother.”

“We will continue to honor her by being Wildlife Warriors and saving as many lives as we can.”
