Jorge Masvidal Apologizes To Stephen A Smith After Seeing Usman’s Pad Work Video

Jorge Masvidal thinks Stephen A. Smith can do better than Kamaru Usman in hitting the pads.

The ESPN personality has been in hot water, following his comments on Donald Cerrone’s ‘atrocious’ performance against Conor McGregor at UFC 246 last month.

Mixed martial arts fans have also roasted Smith after a footage of his pad work video surfaced online, saying he has no right to criticize ‘Cowboy’ if he could not even fare well in sparring.

But after watching Kamaru Usman’s own pad work video, the ‘baddest motherf***er’ champ feels the MMA community owes Smith an apology.

Usman and Masvidal have been going back and forth in interviews and social media as they are being linked to a potential welterweight title fight this July.

In a recent Twitter post, Masvidal launched another attack on the defending champion by trashing his pad work.

“I want to apologize to @stephenasmith on behalf of the mma community. They had something to say about you but wtf is this?” he wrote.

Sealed

Masvidal is one of the most successful fighters in 2019, winning three huge wins in the UFC including the one-and-done ‘BMF’ title against Nate Diaz.

After an emphatic knockout of Darren Till at UFC London, ‘Gamebred’ rewrote history as he finished Ben Askren in five seconds in their UFC 239 welterweight clash – the fastest knockout ever in the UFC.

Now equipped with a heavy resume, he wants a bigger challenge and a bigger paycheck for his next outing, with the returning Conor McGregor on top of his target list.

However, UFC president Dana White said the Irishman will fight Khabib Nurmagomedov next, leaving Usman as the best option for Masvidal.

“I’m moving on from that fight. This dude didn’t want the fight. I’m not here to bully. I guess it’s Usman’s head. He sealed Usman’s fate now.”

Not A Promotional Stunt

Earlier this month, the welterweight stars got into a heated verbal altercation at the Super Bowl media day, which did not sit well with the UFC president.

“I don’t love it,” White told The Will Cain Show (via MMA Junkie).

“People think because I’m a promoter I’m like, ‘Cha-ching. That’s great for us.’”

“But it’s not great for us. We’re here at the Super Bowl – Radio Row at the Super Bowl, the NFL – and these two are acting like neanderthals.”

“Those two are going to fight in Las Vegas in ‘International Fight Week’ for 25 minutes.”

“They can do whatever they want to each other. That fight’s happening. You don’t have to do it here at Radio Row at the Super Bowl.”
