UFC Champ Jon Jones Accepts Mega Fight With Mike Tyson

Jon Jones said he is willing to don the boxing gloves to take on Mike Tyson in the ring as long as they will fight in the Octagon afterwards.

The two-time light heavyweight champion has recently announced he is leaving the UFC as things turned sour between him and Dana White. The two have been on a bitter feud, with the UFC president claiming Jones demanded a $30-million paycheck for moving up to heavyweight class.

“If you’re going to stick to these lies, I’m going to stick to defending myself. Please have your lawyer Hunter Campbell release those text messages,” Jones wrote on Twitter.

“Don’t be a f**king liar. My reputation has already taken enough hits. I don’t need this bullsh*t, Dana. I never asked for Deontay Wilder’s numbers. And how about since Deontay is making $30 million, we settle for half of that. Since you said I’m the GOAT and everything.”

Pay Dispute

Aside from Jones, BMF champion Jorge Masvidal has also demanded a release from the UFC as he revealed the company offered him ‘half’ of what he earned from Nate Diaz fight to face Kamaru Usman.

In a recent live chat, ‘Iron Mike’ discussed the current pay dispute in the UFC and said fighters should cross the bridge to earn a massive paycheck, just like what Conor McGregor did in 2017.

The former undisputed heavyweight champ, then, called out Jones to a potential boxing showdown.

“Listen to this, UFC is more popular than boxing, right? Higher ratings, right? But a UFC fighter will never be richer than a first-class fighter. To make a $100 million, Conor McGregor had to fight Floyd Mayweather. Jon Jones got to fight me if he wants to make some super money,” Tyson said.

Real Fight

Tyson, who last fought in the ring in 2005, is preparing for a sensational boxing comeback to appear in charity bouts. He is being linked to a potential clash with former rival Evander Holyfield and former UFC star Wanderlei Silva.

Following Tyson’s comments, Jones took to Instagram to accept the boxing fight and told ‘Iron Mike’ they should do it in the cage afterwards.

“Mike Tyson — I’ll box you in the ring if you promise to give me a real fight in the octagon afterwards. And because I respect you so much, I promise I won’t break anything on you,” Jones said.
