Floyd Mayweather Interested In Fighting Khabib And McGregor On The Same Day

Floyd Mayweather wants to go to war against Ultimate Fighting Championship stars, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor, on the same fight day.

The boxing legend starred in a lucrative crossover fight against McGregor in 2017, which remains as one of the highest grossing fights in combat sports history.

Following his 10th round stoppage win against the UFC star, Mayweather decided to hang up his gloves anew as he cashed in a whooping $100 million paycheck.

In November 2019, Floyd announced he will be coming out of retirement for the third time as he aims to ‘bring the world another spectacular event’ this year in collaboration with UFC president, Dana White.

And then last month, he teased a potential rematch with ‘The Notorious,’ which will be promoted by Mayweather Promotions, UFC, and Showtime.

Now, it looks like the undefeated boxer wants to push himself to his limit on his return as he proposed the idea of fighting McGregor and Nurmagomedov in the same 24-hour period.

Back-to-Back Boxing Fights

Yes, that’s right. The boxing legend wants a doubleheader featuring him against two of the biggest names in mixed martial arts on the same date.

Mayweather shared he has spoken to the UFC boss about the idea.

“I even talked about fighting Khabib and Conor in the same day,” he told Drink Champs.

“Khabib in the day and Conor at night. You pay one fee, probably $250 (£190), and you get both fights.”

Lightweight Rematch

Before these super fights happen, fans might get to see the rematch between Nurmagomedov and McGregor first as the UFC is serious in pursuing the fight, which could be another financial success for the company.

The lightweight pair first met in the main event of UFC 229 in October 2018, when Khabib submitted the Irishman in the fourth round.

The title fight shattered the pay-per-view records as it grossed 2.4 million buys – the highest in the UFC history.

McGregor recently returned to action after his 15-month absence and defeated Donald Cerrone in a brutal fashion.

Khabib, meanwhile, will put his lightweight title on the line this April as he takes on the very dangerous Tony Ferguson at the UFC 249 headliner.

White said the winner of Nurmagomedov vs Ferguson title fight will be McGregor’s next opponent.
