Eddie Hearn Shares Plans For Jake Paul’s Next Fight

Eddie Hearn has revealed he’s currently working on getting Jake Paul a fight with fellow YouTube star and longtime rival AnEsonGib.

The boxing promoter also revealed that Paul must defeat Gib, also known as ‘Ali’, before he gets a chance to fight KSI, who beat his brother on points earlier this year.

Expensive Fight

Paul, 22, and Gib, 23, almost came to blows at the press conference for Logan Paul vs KSI.

Hearn has since said that a fight between the two could happen, but that Gib’s asking price was high.

According to reports from Dexerto, Hearn said: “It is [realistic]. It’s just a case of like… Gib wants $1 million doesn’t he.”

“I don’t know how big Gib is. I don’t think he’s as big as Jake Paul.”

Gib also joked on twitter that his asking price was actually $5 million.

But reports from TalkSPORT’s Michael Benson suggest that a fight between the two is closer to being confirmed.

Benson wrote on Twitter: “Eddie Hearn has revealed that he is still working to make Jake Paul vs AnEnsonGib.”

“He added that KSI vs Jake Paul could happen, but only if Jake is able to beat Gib first”

Vengeance

Paul’s brother Logan took on KSI, another YouTuber, in California in November. The fight was a rematch after the pair’s initial clash in August last year, which resulted in a draw.

KSI took the victory on points, however there was controversy surrounding the result and Jake took to Twitter following his brother’s defeat: “I cannot wait for the opportunity to fight KSI.”

“I don’t want to throw my brother under the bus but he isn’t a killer like me.”

“I KNOW this sport is for me and WILL avenge my brother”

Gloves Back On

Hearn is currently in the midst of promoting the much-anticipated rematch between Anthony Joshua and Andry Ruiz Jr on Saturday December 7, so it looks like further details will be revealed in the new year.

But it does look like Paul will be stepping back into the ring at least once more.

With KSI expressing an interest in WWE, and his brother looking for a move to MMA, it is unclear whether the Paul vs. KSI boxing saga will be continued, but it seems Paul must first get through Gib before any plans can continue.
