Drake seemed to be tired of merely being a combat sports fan as he has now started to hit the pads with powerful punches on his own boxing training.
The Canadian hip-hop artist is always upping his game from being a wheelchair-bound high school student on Degrassi to rising as one of the most celebrated rap stars in the world. Now, “Drizzy,” who’s always been a fan of boxing and MMA, is trying to do his own combinations.
Only Six Weeks of Training
Professional boxer and trainer Hino Ehikhamenor shared two footages of Drake’s latest groundwork on the pads on Instagram. Though Drizzy has just been starting his training, the techniques he applies do not seem to be that bad.
The “God’s Plan” rapper is hitting the mitts strong enough while turning his hips into the cross. However, Drake might want to put his $120 million chin down if this is a game he wants to pursue.
“On a Sunday night while our opponents are RESTING & eating taco – we’re working on more GREATNESS! The Assassination World Tour begins in a few weeks – STAY READY!!!”
“In ONLY SIX WEEKS OF TRAINING… The biggest room in the house: is the room for IMPROVEMENT!!! Keep Working CHAMP…”
Combat Sports Fan
The Toronto-native has been an avid fan of combat sports and has hyped up Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor’s World tour stop in his city before. He has also worn the Irish flag at the UFC 229 weigh-ins in support of the Dubliner’s title match against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Talking about UFC 229, Drake has cornered McGregor on this Las Vegas event with the most pay-per-view sales in UFC history. The 32-year-old
Several of ‘The Notorious’ team then stormed the ring to try and get at Conor who was also attacked amid the all-out fracas.
At the moment, the former two-division champ is serving a six-month fighting ban while reportedly getting matched up against Donald Cerrone for his next outing.
Drake should now have a list of people he could throw down within the Octagon by now, as he had beefs with various well-known personalities. His wildly popular dispute with fellow rapper Kanye West is one, then there is Eryk Anders, who once called him the ‘ultimate bandwagon fan.’

Despite all the possibilities, there is the idea that Drake might just be enjoying his favourite sport as a way of staying fit; trying to add the word ‘well-built’ on his ‘filthy rich hip-hop star’ description.
