Donald Cerrone Willing To Give McGregor Immediate Rematch If He Wins At UFC 246

Donald Cerrone welcomes an immediate rematch with Conor McGregor if he emerges victorious this Saturday.

The two fan-favourites will tussle in the main event of UFC 246 in Las Vegas, Nevada for the promotion’s first pay-per-view event in 2020.

Cerrone is looking to snap a two-fight losing skid while ‘The Notorious’ from Ireland will try to bounce back from a fourth-round submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The UFC veteran, who holds the record for the most number of wins, knockdowns, finishes, and post-fight bonuses, eyes to test McGregor’s striking skills and bring the battle on the feet.

If he comes out with the win, Cerrone said an immediate rematch will be on the line for the Irishman.

Sounds Good

During the UFC 246 media scrum, ‘Cowboy’ said he is looking forward to blow the roof at the T-mobile Arena this weekend.

Despite being the underdog, Cerrone is confident of pulling an upset against McGregor, saying he wants to do it with the Irishman again this March.

“Hey, sure,” Cerrone told reporters, (via MMA Junkie).

“I would because I don’t care. The who never matters to me. It’s always the when and the where.”

“I heard him yesterday talking about April sounds free – or April, March, whatever the (expletive) they said sounds good to me.”

“I would love to get right back on and get in there in March. So, yeah (I would do an immediate rematch).”

After UFC 246, the former two-division champion plans to fight Jorge Masvidal for the ‘BMF’ title then challenge Kamaru Usman for the welterweight championship.

Meanwhile, UFC president Dana White said he is willing to give McGregor another shot at the lightweight championship in a rematch with Khabib if they both take care of Cerrone and Tony Ferguson respectively.

Bloodbath

As for McGregor, he stressed he has high respect for his opponent but he vows to defeat him by way of knockout.

“He has my respect and although there will be blood spilled on Jan. 18, it will not be bad blood. It will be a KO.”

“The last time we spoke to each other, or we even saw each other, was at that press conference many years ago. So much has changed since then.”

“I was the interim featherweight world champion at the time. Donald predicted I wouldn’t get through Aldo. I got through Aldo.”

“He predicted I was too small for the 155-pound division. I conquered that division.”

“We’ve had a good back and forth, myself and Donald, and as time has gone on he’s become a family man.”

“Obviously, you’ve seen him compete so many times, it’s hard not to respect Donald, right now at this stage.”
