Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington Bad Mouths UFC President Dana White

Welterweight contender Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington has added more fuel to the fire in his volatile relationship with UFC president Dana White by calling him ‘sad’ and implying that the boss is a liar.

Covington, 31, will challenge Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title in Las Vegas later this month at UFC 245. Not one to shy from controversy, the magnitude of his upcoming bout hasn’t deterred ‘Chaos’ from going after White.

Sad Lies

He told MMA Fighting: “It’s sad the narrative he tries to run and what’s even sadder are the fans and the people who actually believe anything that comes out of his mouth.”

“He’s always making up lies about me in the media, making these false and fake narratives. I’m not afraid to call a spade a spade.”

“Whether I’m brutally honest or not, people should recognize how real I am and people should know I always speak the truth when I talk in interviews.”

 Public Feud

The pair have had a tumultuous relationship over the last year or so, with Covington breaking up White’s blackjack game to confront him about favouring Kamaru Usman for a title shot against Tyron Woodley, and live-streaming it…

Other public spats between the two have included White stripping Covington of his interim title and accusing him of getting in the way of fights by declining or demanding more money.

And despite Covington finally getting his shot in Vegas, it doesn’t look like the feud will end anytime soon, with ‘Chaos’ insisting he will not let White put the belt around him if he wins in Vegas.

He told Submission Radio: “I can tell you who’s not wrapping it around my waist, and that will not be Dana White.”

“If he tries to wrap it around my waist, I’m gonna take the belt from him and slap him in the face with it.”

Threats

It’s not the first time Covington has threatened violence against non-fighters either. Last year the California-born fighter claimed he ‘might have to slap’ Joe Rogan following the commentator’s reaction to remarks about Jon Jones.

Regardless of who is in the right, Covington will have the chance to prove critics, and White, wrong on December 14 at the T-Mobile Arena.

UFC 245 looks set to a big night with Max Holloway vs. Alex Volkanovski, Amanda Nunes vs. Germaine de Randamie, Marlon Moraes vs. Jose Aldo also all on the fight card.
