Conor McGregor’s Instagram Post Has Fans Speculating He’s Returning To 155 Pounds

Conor McGregor showed off his slimmer physique in a recent social media post, sparking speculations he could be returning to the lightweight division for his next fight.

The former two-division champion made a sensational Octagon return last January and needed only 40 seconds to finish mixed martial arts veteran, Donald Cerrone, in their main event welterweight clash at UFC 246.

Back in the win column, McGregor has vowed to become more active this year but the global pandemic has stopped his major plan for a busy 2020.

Currently, he is being linked to a number of potential blockbuster fights including a welterweight title fight against reigning champion Kamaru Usman and a rematch against boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr.

But in a recent Instagram post, it seems McGregor is gearing up for a potential return to lightweight class as he appears to have slimmed down.

Most Important Division

UFC president Dana White said he wants to see ‘The Notorious’ at 155 pounds on his next fight, which could be against the winner of Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Justin Gaethje unification bout.

“So Conor and I have not talked about fighting. If you’re Conor, and you’re sitting at home, everybody is calling you out, in every weight division,” he told ESPN in a recent interview.

“I mean, who’s gonna call him out next? It’s crazy. And you know Conor and his personality, he’s going to respond to it.”

“Conor and I have not talked about a fight. I think what Conor needs to do is sit back, let a lot of these fights start rolling out. Obviously, the most important division, the 155-pound division and see what plays out for him.”

In an appearance on The Dan Le Batard show, White said: “What I am excited about is I want to see what is going to happen between Justin Gaethje and Khabib. I want to see that fight. I want to see how that plays out, and then I am excited for Conor to fight the winner.”
