WATCH: New Conor McGregor Training Footage Ahead Of UFC 246

Conor McGregor has shared new footage of him training ahead of his highly-anticipated UFC return when he takes on Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone.

The 31-year-old will make his comeback against Cerrone at UFC 246 on January 18.

The clash will be McGregor’s first time back in the Octagon since his nightmare defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018.

And the Irishman has now given fans a glimpse of what’s to come when he faces ‘Cowboy’ in Las Vegas.

In a video uploaded to Instagram, McGregor can be seen dancing around the ring looking in peak physical condition as he works the training pads.

 Working Hard

McGregor’s return has been highly-anticipated as he attempts to rejuvenate his career following a tumultuous couple of years.

The Dubliner has been working hard to leave trouble behind him and start heading in the right direction.

He’s revealed his diet plans ahead of his return, and also posted pictures of his incredible physique as he looks to start 2020 in the best way possible.

Coach John Kavanagh recently claimed that McGregor is the best he’s ever been.

He wrote on Twitter: Jan 1st, last heavy spar today before going to Vegas. Can honestly say this is the best i’ve seen him and i wasn’t sure that was possible to do 6 months ago. You guys are in for a real treat, i’m just glad to have a good seat!”

Regimented

McGregor’s striking coach Owen Roddy revealed in December training is much more regimented than it was in the lead-up to his defeat against his Khabib.

He said to MMA Fighting: “The last camp was just a bit sporadic. We didn’t know what time we were training at.

“Sometimes it was very late at night, sometimes it was early in the morning and nobody really knew.”

“For the past couple of months it’s been very regimented.”

“We’re doing strength and conditioning, whether it’s in the morning or evening, and then doing a technical session and it’s perfect.”

Roddy also assured fans that when they saw the former champion in action, they’d see the ‘old’ Conor McGregor.

He continued: “I think when you start to see some footage of him training, he starts to do his interviews and he starts building the fight, you’re going to see the old Conor back…I can see that already.”

“When people see that, they’re going to say, ‘That’s the Conor we fell in love with.”

McGregor announced a three-fight plan for 2020 as he looks to climb back to the top of the UFC rankings, with a Khabib rematch and a fight with Justin Gaethje both in his cross-hairs.
