Israel Adesanya retained his middleweight championship at UFC 248 but mixed martial arts fans were clearly disappointed with how the main event fight turned out.
The ‘Last Stylebender’ headlined the said fight card in Las Vegas against Yoel Romero in an intriguing middleweight title clash, which was preceded by an ‘all-time classic’ from Weili Zhang and Joanna Jedrzejczyk in the co-main event.
Anticipated as an all-out war, Adesanya and Romero turned it into what fans called as ‘one of the worst title fights in the history.
The fight went the distance but both fighters mostly played it safe, much to the dismay of the crowd.
Fans online have also expressed their disappointment to the fight, calling it ‘boring’ and ‘terrible.’
After five rounds, the Kiwi-Nigerian had his hand raised as the cageside judges awarded him a unanimous decision win to remain unscathed in eight UFC fights.
