New Year’s Eve is a time where the drinks are flowing, the music is pumping and everyone is just out to have a nice time. That is, of course, unless you’re this absolute lowlife of a man, who thought it would be okay to run up and grab a topless woman’s breast at the Rhythm and Vines festival in Gisborne, New Zealand.
Nipple coverings have been a staple of festival fashion in 2017, but never has the exposure of a breast in public been an instant open invitation for sexual assault.
The man, seen wearing an orange hat and blue shirt below, chases the woman down as she walks along at the festival. Accompanied by a friend, the woman turns around and races after the man, who has tried to hide in plain sight, taking a seat on the grass.
You can hear the shock in the crowd as the man grabs the woman’s breast, with the woman filming the incident remarking: “I got that all on video.”
The woman walks up, understandably outraged, and lets loose with a series of hammerfists on the scumbag. Apparently, the festival circuit has seen a number sexual assaults over the weekend, with police reporting that a sexual assault took place in the camping area on Saturday night at Falls Festival in Tasmania, and a 19-year-old woman being assaulted in the crowd at the Jungle Giants performance on Friday night.
A man from one such incident, who at 32-years-of-age should bloody know better, has been arrested and charged with assault with indecent intent after grabbing a woman’s breast in the mosh pit.
“The [alleged] incident occurred in the mosh pit of the main stage at around 9.30pm and was witnessed by several persons who aided the victim,” a Tasmania Police spokeswoman told the media.
“The [alleged] perpetrator was identified by the victim and detained by security staff and taken into custody by police shortly thereafter.
“Police were disappointed by the reported incidents of inappropriate behaviour, however, patrons were generally well behaved and in good spirits.”
The man has since been released on bail, and we’re hoping will be a lesson to any other would-be d*ckheads who want to have a go at assaulting women as they go about their business.
