New Promo Released For McGregor vs Winner Of Khabib And Ferguson

An eerie new promotional video has dropped regarding who will be the next man to fight UFC lightweight champion, Conor McGregor.

The popular mixed martial artist has been out of action since winning the title in November of 2016, but that hasn’t stopped the spotlight around him from growing.

In fact, fans now seem more desperate than ever to have McGregor back in the UFC’s Octagon after Khabib Nurmagomedov’s incredible performance against Edson Barboza just weeks ago at UFC 219. Nurmagomedov is just one step below interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson in terms of who will get their shot against McGregor first, with Ferguson having won the interim strap back in October of 2017.

UFC president Dana White had tipped a comeback for McGregor as being possible in late December, yet no fight materialised. While Ferguson sat sidelined awaiting his shot at McGregor, Nurmagomedov went out and made a statement against the highly dangerous Barboza, whose striking puts fear into the hearts of even the toughest athletes. The Dagestani wrestler would put on the performance of his career, outworking his opponent across all three rounds to take home a resounding victory.

“As long as Conor is willing to fight by March, we could do Khabib versus Tony and then the winner fights Conor for the title,” White said regarding the future of the lightweight division. “Or, if Conor wants to sit out until next fall, then we’d have to make Khabib versus Tony for the title, not the interim title.”

“The two guys that are fighting for that interim belt are bums,” a voiceover of McGregor declares. “You’re going to need a f*cking army to come and take these belts off me… So why not face a man in his home country, and a crazy place like Russia. It’s certainly something I’d like to do. There’s a couple of options on the table so let’s see what unfolds.”

“Tony Ferguson has been around for a long time,” says White as the promo begins to wind down. “He has earned his dues. Khabib has earned his dues and the list goes on and on.”

This truly is one well cut promotional trailer, and we can’t wait to see whether McGregor will finally take on Tony Ferguson, or whether he will let the two contenders slug it out and then fight the winner. What do you think will happen? Check out the clip below and let us know your thoughts!
