Jose Aldo Calls Out Dana White

When we look back at 2015 in the UFC, there will be one story that stands out… Jose Aldo vs Conor McGregor.

Never has there been a fight publicized so heavily. It was a fight between the long standing undefeated UFC featherweight champion of the world vs the new kid on the block with a mouth bigger than most can punch.

Conor instilled it into all of us, including Aldo, that he would destroy him.

After an unprecedented world tour which went on for several weeks, Jose Aldo ended up pulling out of UFC 189 with a rib injury, which only further antagonised the situation. McGregor used the injury as a way to annihilate Jose Aldo in the media, adding further fuel to the fire.

Come December, Jose Aldo seemed a man who was already beaten, just as The Notorious claimed. The year was then rounded out with the fastest KO for a title in UFC history.

Following the loss, Aldo says he was promised an immediate shot at the title against Frankie Edgar and that Conor would relinquish the title in pursuit of the lightweight belt.

“Dana and Lorenzo went to our locker room and said the next fight would be with Frankie Edgar for the title because Conor wouldn’t make the weight anymore,” Aldo said. “That was the idea when the fight was over. But if someone asks me what I want, it’s the rematch, of course. I don’t see another fight for me besides a title fight or a rematch.”

Just days ago, Jose Aldo’s manager Andre Pederneiras went as far as saying that Aldo has no problems sitting out for an entire year while he waits for a title shot.

“What I can say is that that’s our idea right now,” Pederneiras said. “It might change tomorrow, but that’s our idea right now.”

“Aldo believes he has this right, and so do I,” he added. “He will only fight for the belt. The champion he was, undefeated for 10 years, he thinks he has the same right others had. Some fighters are getting rematches they deserve less than Aldo. If it’s going to be soon or in 10 years, he thinks he deserves a title fight.”

And now just hours ago, Jose Aldo took to Instagram to express his frustration with the UFC, calling out Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta to hold their word.

“Hi everyone, i was quiet for a while because i was waiting for my rematch based on how the fight Went down, in fact I was already training for it, but apparently I was wrong. So I wanted to make something clear to UFC: for everything I have done, everything I have accepted and mostly how the fight ended, I will not accept any other fight other than a title shot . My only exception would be fighting thenotorious , at any time, anywhere , and once that he is afraid and knows that I'm gonna win …. Doesn't have to be title fight against him. Keep my belt, but I wanna whoop ur ass anywhere. @danawhite @lorenzofertitta @ufc keep ur word. I still believe in the company that I work for.”

#rematch Hi everyone, i was quiet for a while because i was waiting for my rematch based on how the fight Went down, in fact I was already training for it, but apparently I was wrong.
