Dana White Sends Harsh Message In Response To Jose Aldo’s Rematch Demands With Conor McGregor

Since the moment Jose Aldo got knocked out by Conor McGregor, you could feel the tension between Jose and the UFC. The script couldn’t have played out any better, but Jose Aldo was the poor bloke who was destined to fail.

Never has there been a fight publicized so heavily. It was a fight between the long standing undefeated UFC featherweight champion of the world vs the new kid on the block with a mouth bigger than most can punch.

A year’s worth of media and publicity made this the biggest fight of the year, and just as Conor McGregor told us, he would finish Aldo in the first round – which he did.

Following his brutal loss, Aldo claimed that Dana White came to console him and promised an immediate shot at the title against Frankie Edgar.

“Dana and Lorenzo went to our locker room and said the next fight would be with Frankie Edgar for the title because Conor wouldn’t make the weight anymore,” Aldo said. “That was the idea when the fight was over. But if someone asks me what I want, it’s the rematch, of course. I don’t see another fight for me besides a title fight or a rematch.”

Aldo had been waiting patiently, but when news broke that Conor would hold onto his featherweight belt while also moving up to the lightweight division, he and his team were furious.

“Aldo believes he has this right, and so do I,” Aldo’s manager said. “He will only fight for the belt. The champion he was, undefeated for 10 years, he thinks he has the same right others had. Some fighters are getting rematches they deserve less than Aldo. If it’s going to be soon or in 10 years, he thinks he deserves a title fight.”

Jose, clearly pissed off, took to Instagram yesterday to express his frustration with the UFC, while also calling out Dana White for not keeping his word.

“Hi everyone, i was quiet for a while because i was waiting for my rematch based on how the fight Went down, in fact I was already training for it, but apparently I was wrong. So I wanted to make something clear to UFC: for everything I have done, everything I have accepted and mostly how the fight ended, I will not accept any other fight other than a title shot . My only exception would be fighting thenotorious , at any time, anywhere , and once that he is afraid and knows that I'm gonna win …. Doesn't have to be title fight against him. Keep my belt, but I wanna whoop ur ass anywhere. @danawhite @lorenzofertitta @ufc keep ur word. I still believe in the company that I work for.”

#rematch Hi everyone, i was quiet for a while because i was waiting for my rematch based on how the fight Went down, in fact I was already training for it, but apparently I was wrong. UFC President Dana White was recently asked to respond to Aldo’s comments about wanting another fight with Conor.

“Well the problem is that’s what everybody’s saying now,” White said.

“From flyweight to heavyweight, they all want to fight Conor McGregor. It’s the money fight!”

When further pressed on why Jose Aldo wasn’t given an immediate rematch, White took the opportunity to give Jose a harsh reality check.

“It’s one of those things,” White said. “We made the fight the first time and he got hurt and had to pull out.

“Then we made it again and it ended in 13 seconds. It’s tough to make that fight again right away.”
