Conor McGregor Breaks The Internet With Latest Father/Son Tweet Taunting Floyd Mayweather
After much speculation and doubt, it appears the fight between UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor and undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather will go ahead.
UFC President Dana White made a statement last week that he was giving the fighters until Sunday to come to an agreement or he would abandon negotiations.
That day had come and gone, leaving many to think the fight may be off, however speaking after the NBA on TNT telecast of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, White provided a massive update.
Former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal asked White during the post-game show if the fight was happening.
“McGregor’s side is done, I’m starting to work on the Mayweather side now,” White said, “I got one side done, now it’s time to work on the other. If we can come to a deal with [Al] Haymon and Mayweather, the fight’s going to happen.”
A short time after, Conor McGregor put out a statement on his website, TheMacLife.com, confirming that he has signed off on the deal.
“It is an honor to sign this record breaking deal alongside my partners Zuffa LLC, The Ultimate Fighting Championship and Paradigm Sports Management,” McGregor stated.
“The first, and most important part of this historic contract has now officially been signed off on. Congratulations to all parties involved. We now await Al Haymon and his boxer’s signature in the coming days.”
With McGregor’s part now a done deal and the attention turned to Floyd Mayweather, McGregor took to social media with a taunt of Floyd Mayweather.
Captured with his son, Conor McGregor Jnr, the pair are pictured with all of Conor’s belts, with the wording “Let’s go get some boxing ones now son.”.
