Stadium Security Footage Of Pro Baseball Player Attacking His Girlfriend Released

Shocking video footage has emerged of professional baseball player Danry Vasquez beating his then-girlfriend and dragging her down a flight of stairs by her hair.

At the time of the assault, Danry Vasquez was playing for the Corpus Christi Hooks, a minor league affiliate of Major League Baseball franchise the Houston Astros.

The Venezuelan outfielder was arrested on domestic violence charges in August of 2016, two days after police obtained a copy of the videotape, but the case was dismissed as his then-partner refused to press charges. Vasquez simply completed an anger management course and paid a fine.

The prosecutor, District Attorney Mark Gonzalez, said that he was “forced to dismiss the case” because the player had “done everything we asked him to do”.

“It was an assault that occurred, we had all the evidence to prove it we just allowed this individual to hopefully get the training and education so he wouldn’t continue to assault people where he has relationships with,” Gonzalez stated.

‘Here, your glasses fell off when I smacked the sh*t out of you’….Scumbag!

Despite the abuse, the woman – known only as Fabiana – stayed with Vasquez for at least a couple of months after the court case and in October 2016, Vasquez posted a photo of the pair on Facebook.

In the translated caption, he wrote: “We are a team and nothing and nobody can separate us. Not rabies or the biggest hurricane.”

He never said anything about a rabid hurricane, however

Fabiana eventually left his arse and Hooks cut ties with him so Vasquez returned to Venezuela and played professional baseball there for two seasons. He is also now married to another woman.

…and appears to regret his decision

After two seasons in exile, Vasquez returned to the states and signed with the Lancaster Barnstormers, a professional team in the Atlantic League.

At the time of his signing, Barnstormers manager Ross Peeples said that was excited to welcome him to the team.

“Danry is a guy whose name I got from someone in winter ball,” Peeples said. “After talking with several other people about him, I am very excited to bring him in. He was a prospect a few years ago and is still pretty young. I am excited to see what he can do in our ballpark.”

But after footage of the incident emerged, the franchise cut ties with him.

“There is no choice but to sever the relationship,” said Peeples. “Neither I nor the Barnstormers’ organisation as a whole, can condone or associate with that behaviour.”
